Formula 1 has announced the extension of the contract signed with the Albert Park circuit until 2035. In this way, the Australian Grand Prix is assured of its presence for the next 13 years.
Formula 1 has announced today that the Australian Grand Prix it will stay in Melbourne until 2035. The new agreement, which extends the existing one by 10 years to 2025, includes the presence of Formula 2 and Formula 3 as part of the race weekend program from 2023.
The 2022 Grand Prix welcomed 419,000 fans to the Albert Park circuit, recording a new record attendance at a sporting event in Australian history. The event, which debuted in Formula 1 in 1996, has become one of the most anticipated on the calendar and now consolidates its essential status.

Over the last two years, the promoter has made a significant investment to improve the circuit, the facilities and the overall fan experience. This will include modernization of the paddock and pitlane in the coming years.

Martin Pakula, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events in the Victorian Government, has pointed out that “The Australian Grand Prix has never been bigger, with over 419,000 people gathered in Albert Park for this year’s race. We know how important this event is to our economy and that is why we have agreed to the longest renewal for the race since it has been held in Melbourne.”
