The range of the Audi TT and Q3 debuts new image options. The brand with the four rings has expanded the customization offer with new body colors, which stand out for their special matte finish. Four special colors that, until now, were not available on the coupé or the SUV, but for which you should prepare your wallet.
The more customization options, the better. That has been the maxim of the large number of brands, and especially the Premium ones, with which customers have been prevented from going to the competition. But it is also true that, for example, some body colors have been available only for the sportiest, most select and exclusive models. The worst thing is that the cost of developing these paints is hardly amortized.
The great proof is that BMW’s sportiest compacts recently have the more than 70 paints available of “BMW Individual”. And in Audi a similar effect has happened. The brand with the four rings has been much more restrained and offers, to the owners of the different versions of the range of Audi TT Coupe, Q3 Y RS Q3 four exclusive Audi Sport colors created by the specialists at “Audi Design & Trim”. The German firm tends to offer a dozen colors for each model, despite the fact that internal studies indicate that three out of four customers in Germany choose the colors white, black and silver gray.
The Audi Q3 Sportback and TT Coupé available with matt paints
For the TT RS, the new matt color “Python Yellow” and “Dew Silver” are offered exclusively for the RS Q3, while for the “Daytona Grey” and Metallic Silver are available for the conventional versions of the two-door sports car and for the SUV., of course with the same matte finish.
Both models are manufactured at the Audi plant in Györ, Hungary, without the need to send the bodies to another facility to carry out this special painting process. The company with the four rings has explained that it is a special procedure, because after the primer, putty and color comes the transparent matte layer, which contains special silicate particles that give the matte finish, and adding an extra layer of just 50 thousandths of a millimeter.
A new option for customers of these two models that offers a special finish that reinforces sportiness. For now, they are only available for the TT coupé, and for the compact family SUV. Options that are expected to also be offered, at least, in the Audi Q3, since the roadster’s days are numbered and it will be in this year 2022 when its production will definitively cease, saying goodbye to a true myth in the German brand.
