The non-E3 2022 has come and gone. Featuring performances by Summer Game Fest, Capcom, Square Enix, PlayStation, Xbox and more, the last few weeks were full of announcements of all kinds. As always happens in this type of case, there were some revelations that stole the attention of the entire public. Thus, here we present the five most important announcements that took place during the week, or weeks, in this case, that would have been carried out by the ESA event. Is your favorite here?
5-. The Last of Us Part I
For months it had been rumored that The Last of Us would have a remake for PlayStation 5. Without some kind of confirmation during the most recent State of Play, the hopes of the players were diminishing. However, hours before the big Summer Game Fest event, the PlayStation Store leaked all the information related to this installment, which meant that the subsequent official reveal at the end of the Geoff Keighley event did not have the weight that it surely had planned. Still, the trailer presented to us makes clear a substantial technological advance compared to what we ordinally saw on the PS3.
4-. The Callisto Protocol
Although we had a cinematic trailer for this game during the State of Play, it wasn’t until Summer Game Fest that the first gameplay of this game was shared, confirming what many already suspected, Glen Schofield’s new game is Dead Space 4, which means good news for survival horror fans. This trailer was packed with everything we love about these kinds of experiences: a terrifying atmosphere, enemies that look like something out of our worst nightmares, and a third-person shooter system that can go toe-to-toe with the remakes Capcom has delivered. in recent years, and it will be a very good competition from the remake of dead space that EA will present to us in early 2023.
3-. Starfield
While many were saddened by the delay of Bethesda’s next big game, the extensive glimpse shared during the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase was more than enough to get more than one person excited. Although there were clearly a couple of mistakes in this presentation, and the similarities with No Man’s Sky They did not wait, the work that Todd Howard presented us looks like the next big step for the studio. Along with this, the promise of exploring more than a thousand planets, creating your own space team, and exploring every corner of the universe is a magic that no one can sell as well as Bethesda.
two-. Resident Evil 4 Remake
Similar to what we saw with The Last of Us Part Ifor years it was rumored that Capcom was working on a remake of Resident Evil 4. However, this work had the advantage that his big reveal was not leaked. Before even seeing gameplay or a cutscene, the State of Play opened with a statement that few can make: an exact release date. After this, those responsible for Street Fighter elaborated more on this reimagining in their own presentation, making it clear that Resident Evil 4 remake will continue with the line we saw in Resident Evil 2 Y Resident Evil 3. So to say we’re excited is just stating the obvious.
1-. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
The best ads are the ones you don’t expect. When Square Enix revealed that it planned to hold a presentation for the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy 7many of us thought that it would only have information about First Soldier, the mobile battle royale, symphonic concerts and some official merchandise. However, the Japanese company surprised us by confirming a remastering of Crisis Core. Not content with this, which would have been more than enough, we were also given our first official look at Final Fantasy 7 Rebirththe sequel to remake, something that very few expected. Best of all, the promise was offered that this title would be available during “the following winter time”.
