The Historic Center of Mexico City is preparing to host the second edition of the Pan de Muerto and Chocolate Festival 2023; which according to its organizers, the Adelitas Empresarias collective, will offer its visitors more than 200 varieties of this appetizing bread and drinks to accompany it.
What will you find at the Pan de Muerto and Chocolate Festival 2023?
In addition to the traditional bread of the dead, there will be a large number of breads filled with bunnies, pastry cream, chocolate, lemon pie and guava with sweet potato, to name a few.
Likewise, attendees will be able to try breads of different flavors such as hibiscus, chocolate, anise and orange; regional versions with sesame and pulque; those with faces from Miahuatlán, Oaxaca; and black bread of the dead with totomoxtle ash, among many others.

As for drinks, endless options will be offered; from steaming coffee and Oaxacan or Tabasco hot chocolate; to cold drinks such as cocoa horchata and Oaxacan chocolate prepared with water.
Likewise, the festival will also have exhibitors of artisanal solid chocolate in different presentations and some more risky proposals such as chocolate filled with mole, parmesan cheese or chai.
Finally, there will also be sales of coffee beans, herbal teas, sauces, jams, tamales and ice cream; personal care products, plants, jewelry and textiles.
Date, place and cost of the event
The appointment is on Friday the 3rd, Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of November from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the UNAM Autonomy Palace, at Lic. Primo de Verdad 2, in the Center, Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office.
The entry cost per person will be $20 pesos and to speed up access, you can register on the official Adelitas Empresarias website.
Your ticket will include an immersive experience, a tour of the place’s offerings and you will be able to participate in a raffle for breads and various products.
