Dogs and cats are pets that families love to have at home, since there are so many moments that are shared with them that they become one more member. Lately, cats have become more popular among people, especially for being cute, quiet and for being animals that do not take up too much space in the house. Well, at least that’s what Yulia Minina thought, a Russian woman who adopted a small kitten and now, almost two years later, has a huge feline that weighs more than 12 kilos.
Yulia is a girl from Stari Oskol, Russia, who in 2020 decided to buy an adorable Maine Coon kitten, with white fur, pointed ears and yellow eyes, which she named Kefir, since due to his white and silky fur he was very similar to that milk drink.
What the woman never imagined is that this puppy would grow so much, because at just one year and ten months, the feline measures 1.5 meters and weighs 12.5 kilos, making it one of the largest cats in the world.
Kefir has not only grown in size, he is a very intelligent cat, very affectionate and never loses his calm. I never imagined that a cat could get so big.
According to specialists, specimens of this breed tend to grow until they are three or four years old, so it is very likely that Kefir will continue to grow. The feline has a habit of sleeping in bed with Yulia at night. However, as he has grown older, that has become a problem for her.
When he was a kitten, he didn’t cause me any problems, but now he’s so big and heavy that it’s hard to sleep like this.
Yulia assures that she is not surprised by the large size of Kefir like the rest of the world, because in her Instagram videos you can see how she loads it without any problem and the great friendship that exists between them.
When family and friends come home, you become the center of attention. He knows this and allows himself to be petted, but when strangers arrive, everyone mistakes him for a dog.
Kefir went viral in the videos that Yulia shared on her Instagram, surprising Internet users due to its large size, who commented that it was a farce or an image altered with Photoshop, since they doubted the truth of the cat.
Based on the comments that the cat was false or that it was a stuffed animal, the owner of Kefir shared some videos that show images and recordings of how the feline has grown and thus clarify that it is not a farce to become famous.
Faced with the proposal of some users who have proposed to Yulia to buy her cat, she has made it clear to them that her partner is not for sale.
