Sometimes we get the feeling that Elon Musk and Tesla Motors They only seek to buy time while they find a way to reorganize the flows of their production lines. That is the impression he gave us at the time with the Cyberquad which has now gone on sale outside the United States.
It is an electric quad for children, something like an electric quad bike, quite heavy with a futuristic design that takes us back to the Cybertruck and which constitutes one of the most embarrassing episodes of the company.
As we have already told you in the past, the first truck pick-up electric from Elon Musk’s company was presented many years ago, back in 2019. In a somewhat embarrassing conference where the richest man in the world made a fool of himself by crashing the “armored” glass of the vehicle.
After that, an extensive list of mistakes would begin in which the Cybertruck time and again delayed its final launch date, even altering its design on more than one occasion due to mass production problems.
It was in one of those delays, at the end of 2021, that Elon Musk ended up presenting a new alternative: the Tesla Cyberquad, a children’s motorcycle with a design inspired by the impossible truck that could well be described as a very expensive toy.
Better late than never: Tesla Cyberquad now arrives in Spain
The Tesla Cyberquadis therefore a small children’s ATV, very aesthetically aligned in its design with the bases that we have seen with the Cybertruck.
It has a steel frame, padded seat and adjustable suspension with rear disc brake. It is also equipped with LED light bars and is fully electric. The vehicle is around 55 kilos and supports users with a maximum weight of 68 kilos.
The detail of its 24 V, 188 Wh lithium-ion battery stands out, which together with its curious 350 W motor allows it to achieve a maximum of 19 kilometers of autonomy. Which is normal and even attractive for a quad for children.
Although, it should be noted, as it is a children’s vehicle, speed is not its strong point, since it can run at around 14 kilometers per hour. The battery requires constant recharging due to its autonomy parameter and its original starting price in the United States was USD $1,900.
Now, according to colleagues from Expansion, the Tesla Cyberquad has arrived in Spain, with exactly the same characteristics that we saw two years ago. But with a price of EUR €1,990, which is equivalent to about USD $2,100.
Somehow Elon Musk found a way to sell a two-year-old item two hundred dollars more expensive.
