Search advertising (search ads) has proven to be a great ally for companies and businesses of all sizes in this post-pandemic era. This area, dominated by Google in terms of profits, is no stranger to large technology companies.
In fact, a recent study reveals that it is precisely the firms that operate in this segment that invest the most to appear in search ads.
The information comes from a new analysis signed by Semrush which has studied the investment made by the top 15 companies on the Fortune 100 list to determine which ones pay the most to appear in search ads.
Round business for Google
The list is interesting if we recognize that Alphabet, Google’s parent company, is the technology company that invests the most in this regard.
This firm allocated nearly 774 million dollars in this type of advertising during 2020, a figure that is striking if we consider that the Google search engine is the most used and therefore the one that generates the highest income from this type of advertising.
Recall that recently, the European Commission indicated that 80 percent of the smartphones and tablets that were sold during 2018 throughout the European Economic Area worked with Android.
To be more precise, until 2016 it was estimated that more than 95 percent of searches on Android devices were carried out using Google services.
Technological dominate
Returning to the list, Amazon came in second with $ 471 million, while Microsoft came in fourth with $ 160 million. As for Appe, the company took 12th place with a total spend of $ 64.8 million.
The other companies in the top 10 include other big tech firms like AT&T and Verizon.
