TOHO revealed a first teaserthe release window and other details about kimi no iro (your color), the upcoming film from acclaimed director Naoko Yamada. A story coming-of-age about the search for independence, conflicts and love patterns between a trio of teenagers.
The Japanese filmmaker is best known for her work on numerous Kyoto Animation productions such as the series K-On! Y Tamako Marketbesides the movies Tamako Love Story (2014), a silent voice (2016) and Liz and the Blu Bird (2018). In 2021, Yamada left KyoAni for Science SARU, with whom he already worked on the series. The Heike Story and the short film Garden of Remembrance.

what do we know about kimi no iro?
kimi no iro will have a booklet Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden), Naoko Yamada’s head scriptwriter since her debut in K-On!while the music will be in charge of kensuke ushio (Chainsaw Man), who has been collaborating with the director since a silent voice. The animation will be developed in the studio Science SARU (inu-oh) and production falls on Story Inc.a company established by Genki Kawamura who supervised the last two Makoto Shinkai films.

“I can see people’s hearts in ‘color’”
Totsuko is a girl who attends a missionary high school in the city of Nagasaki. She can see people’s emotions as ‘colors’. Happy colors, sad colors, calm colors, scared colors… In order not to darken the ‘color’ of friends and family, she reads the atmosphere and lies to cover up any situation. But everything changes when Totsuko meets an old bookstore in the corner of the city with a beautiful girl with a very pretty color and a boy who loves music. Three overly sensitive people get together and begin to live their youth.
kimi no iro is scheduled to premiere in fall 2023 in theaters in Japan.
