Tango Gameworks is currently working on Ghostwire: Tokyo with Shinji Mikami, creator of Resident Evil, in the role of director. However, this is not the only project in development. During the Xbox presentation at Tokyo Game Show 2021, it was revealed that John Johanas, the director of The Evil Within 2, is in charge of a new title.
During a short appearance by Mikami at the Xbox presentation, the Tango Gameworks founder confirmed that, alongside Ghostwire: Tokyo, the studio is already working on a new project. Unfortunately, there is no further information on this. Considering that Johanas was in charge of directing the DLC of the first The Evil Within, as well as its sequel, it is speculated that a third installment of the series could already be in development.
On the other hand, taking into account that after Microsoft’s purchase of ZeniMax Media, Tango Gameworks is now part of Xbox Game Studios, this title will be a company exclusive. Along with this, Mikami made it clear that he is ready to give young developers more opportunities. This is not the first time this has happened, since originally, Ikumi Nakamura was in charge of Ghostwire: Tokyo.
Considering that Ghostwire: Tokyo coming to PS5 and PC until next year, it will likely be some time before you see detailed information about the new game from the studio. In related topics, Scarlet nexus has come to Game Pass. Similarly, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available in Mexico.
