If the purchase of Bethesda by Microsoft for 7.5 billion dollars already seemed exorbitant a couple of years ago, Take-Two has left this operation in blankets by announcing the Zynga acquisition for a whopping $ 12 billion. Thanks to this hit editor of the stature of Farmville, the company aims to strengthen its commitment to mobile devices, which includes bringing its iconic sagas to this format.
“We are delighted to announce our transformative transaction with Zynga, which will significantly diversify our business and establish our leadership position in mobile, the fastest growing segment of the entertainment industry”, Explained Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Intectactive, through a release.
For his part, Frank Gibeau, CEO of Zynga, has ensured that “combining the experience of Zynga on mobile phones and new generation platforms with Take-Two’s capabilities and intellectual properties they will allow us to go further in our mission to connect with the world through games, while achieving remarkable growth ”with these combined efforts.
Take-Two’s objectives with this acquisition go through bring your IPs to mobile devices, Integrate live services and cross-play, bet on new F2P bets as recurring revenue systems and, of course, reaching new regions and bringing together more users.
