Recently, it seems that some smart kids have managed to jailbreak the T2 chip that old Macs carry. If the utility is very minimal for the moment, some exploits remain funny to note, as it is the case very recently with the find of Martin Nobel.
Indeed, the latter has just published a new video on his YouTube channel, in which he manages to change the startup sound of the Mac to that of the PlayStation 5 and its big sisters. The video in question:
Macs with PlayStation sounds
With the jailbreak of the T2 chip, it became possible to give the Mac a custom boot sound (the last Mac to support custom sound was the 1999 PowerMac G3). And now it’s time to give the Mac the startup sound of every PlayStation from PS1 to PS5!
The feat will make video game enthusiasts smile, and more particularly Sony and its famous PlayStation consoles. Because yes, Martin Nobel has managed to make his Mac sound like Japanese devices, including the latest, the PlayStation 5!
How would you make your Mac sound?
