Survey reveals how often users use wireless charging on their devices
Like all new technology almost 10 years ago, wireless charging seems like the undisputed standard that all smartphone companies would end up adopting. Thus, the main device firms launched their proposals. Apple debuted adopting the Qi standard starting with the iPhone XR in 2017, maintaining the adoption until today. Nevertheless, this option has not yet ruled out the habit of charging by connecting the device and charger through a port.
To resolve the doubt, from the Reddit channel iPhone have been raised to give an insight on the popularity of wireless charging, consulted community members, “How often do you use wireless charging to charge your mobile?” And the answers have left a clear trend in sight.
Wireless charging or not?
According to the results of the poll that got 7146 votes, wireless charging does not seem the decisive option when it comes to acquiring a dissipative, to such an extent that even with the possibility of using it, some owners don’t even take it into account.
- 20.2% You do not have a mobile with wireless charging.
- 36.3% Never (with mobile phones with wireless charging).
- 5% At least once a month.
- 2.6% At least once a week.
- 4.8% Few times a week.
- 31% Every day.
In the case of Apple, MagSafe hasn’t exactly been a popular choice. Since its launch in 2020, the price of the accessory has been one of the most controversial characteristics, added to the obligation to purchase an additional adapter of 25 euros, especially compared to options that meet the same result for much less.
Even, and beyond its performance with the iPhone, recently the MagSafe has annoyed users of the new Apple Watch Series 7, for whom the accessory is useless when charging the device.
