The new spring testing season at the Nürburgring circuit has just started, but the last throes of winter in Sweden have just shown that extreme cold tests have not ended and that surprises are a regular feature of snowy landscapes. These are the first spy photos of the new Audi Q5 2024, one of the firm’s most important SUVs.
The third generation of Audi Q5 it is more than under way. One of the sales pillars of the brand with the four rings has been surprised in the last throes of the winter tests, where a prototype of the new model has appeared with a large part of the front exposed. A real surprise, completely unexpected, and the German brand has taken the opportunity to start the tests of the new model now that the vast majority of photographers are at the Nürburgring circuit.
While our special envoys remain on the German track, the Audi Q5 2024 has just been surprised on one of the usual routes and in the second stage of the brand on the roads near the Arctic Circle, as far as the new model has moved. And as you can see in these very first spy photosthey are more than interesting, well much of the front design is exposed. We can appreciate the slim headlights and part of the large Singleframe grilleand octagon-shaped, occupying the front, with the usual network of large holes painted in black.

The air intakes on the sides are also new, taller and with the same finish as the grillein addition to a new additional grille in the lower part, with a trapezoid shape that occupies a larger surface. The hood changes completely, now with more chiseled side profiles and a rounder edge. A more elegant and aggressive style ahead, but without changing the proportions, which remain practically intact, although the wheelbase will grow a few millimeters to offer more interior space.
Audi has also given a sportier look to the rear, with an increased tailgate rake, although in this area the drivers are tentative. What the camouflage does reveal is that the German brand will retain the characteristic style of the current model, with a sharp edge just above the license plate. A development that has begun just a few months after the first prototypes of the Audi A4 Avant have hit the streets.
The snapshots have not allowed us to take a look inside, although a big jump is expected in this area, much more sophisticated and technological, in line with the electric variant that is being developed and is in a more advanced state, that of the Q6 e-tron. Audi will offer a range of engines from gasoline and diesel, all with 48 Volt MHEV technologyalso including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option, all with 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, regardless of the front. The new Audi Q5 will be a great world novelty in the second half of next year, so the first units will arrive at dealerships in the first quarter of 2024.
