In a recent interview, the Duffer brothers compared the fourth season of Stranger Things to Game of Thrones.
Stranger Things is one of the most iconic and important series in Netflix history.
The fourth season will not be the last, which is why a fifth installment is already being considered.
Matt and Ross Duffer, creators of Stranger Things, affirm that the fourth season of the series will be like Game of Thronesthe successful HBO series.
On the one hand, when we talk about Stranger Things, we are talking about one of the most iconic and important series in the history of Netflix, which, it is estimated, has been seen by approximately 64 million viewers.
Last February it was announced that, finally, this year the new and long-awaited fourth season of Netflix will arrive, being one of the many series that were affected by the arrival of the pandemic.
Three years after the last season, expectations returns to focus on Stranger Things, a series that made the town of Hawkins popular.
Taking these data into account, it is clear that the return of the iconic series is one of the biggest bets for Netflix, which continues to seek to increase the number of its subscribers, which already exceeds 220 million, placing it as the platform leader in the market.
Why compare Stranger Things with Game of Thrones?
Now, when the premiere of the first part of the fourth season of Stranger Things, The Duffer brothers have come out to declare something that does not end by understanding the reasons, since, according to the creators, this new installment is like Game of Thronesthe hit HBO series.
“We jokingly call it our season of ‘Game of Thrones’ because it’s so spread out, so I think that’s what’s unique or most unique about it. Joyce’s family and [Will] Byers left at the end of season three. They are in California; we always wanted to have that ET (1982) style suburban aesthetic, which we finally got to do this year in the desert. And then we have Hopper in Russia; and then of course we have a group that remains in Hawkins. So we have these three stories, all connected and interwoven, but they’re very different shades.” declared the Duffer Brothers in a recent interview with Deadline.
The fourth installment of the series will be divided into two parts, as happened with La Casa de Papel; volume one of Stranger Things will be released on May 27, while volume two will arrive five weeks later, on July 1.
Through a statement, the Duffer Brothers stated that: “Stranger Things Season 4 was the most challenging yet, but also the most rewarding. Everyone involved is proud of the result and can’t wait to share it.”.
“We didn’t know how big the season was going to be, and we didn’t even realize it until we were halfway through, just in terms of how much story we wanted to tell this season. ‘Game of Thrones’ is one thing that we’ve referenced, but also for us it’s really about revelations, in the sense that we really wanted to start giving the audience some answers.”
It should be noted that the fourth season will not be the last, which is why a fifth installment is already being considered, which would be the last of the series.
