This Wednesday, June 2, the next State of Play from Sony, where the company will showcase some of the games headed to PS4, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR 2. Earlier today, the official PlayStation account confirmed that the stream is part of Summer Game FestGeoff Keighley’s new event that came to replace E3.
At the beginning of May, Geoff Keighley confirmed the date for this year’s Summer Game Fest, which will take place on Thursday, June 9 and will present video games from some of the most important publishers in the industry. However, today we know that the Summer Game Fest will officially kick off a week early with the State of Play.

PlayStation’s new State of Play was announced last week, and Sony has since said it would be around 30 minutes long and focused on new game announcements and other news. However, we may not see many announcements of video games developed by PlayStation Studios for PS4 and PS5.
When announcing the new State of Play, Sony said they were preparing announcements from their third-party partners and exclusive sneak peeks at games in development for PlayStation VR2. Because of this, it is believed that we could see Street Fighter 6 or Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 from Capcom or Square Enix, who have a close relationship with PlayStation.

Rumors also point to a new God of War: Ragnarok trailer coming soon, confirming its release date on PS4 and PlayStation 5. This is due to Sony planning to release official God of War: Ragnarok merchandise in September. and the game has just been rated in South Korea.
