It is clear that all fan groups have a series of negative elements, but which is the most toxic? Well, according to Simon Pegg, a renowned actor who has participated in franchises like Star Trek, Mission Impossible, The Boys and more, is in starwars where the worst group of people are.
During an interview for Jim and Sam’s SiriusXM radio show, Pegg revealed that the most toxic group of fans at the moment is in Star Wars. This is what he mentioned about it:
“To be honest, and as someone who, you know, started with the prequels when they came out, the Star Wars fanbase really seems to be the most toxic right now. I’m probably being very controversial by saying that.”
Pegg, who acted as Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakenshas even pointed out that he was part of the problem, since at the time he joined the criticism against Jar Jar Binks. Fortunately, the actor decided to apologize for his comments after reflecting on how his negativity affected Ahmed Best, who brought this infamous character to life.
“I apologized for the things I said about, you know, Jar Jar Binks. Because of course there was a bloody actor involved. He was receiving a lot of criticism and… He was a human being. And because he got a lot of hate, he suffered, you know, and I feel terrible about being a part of it.”
In addition to the attacks against Best, let us remember that Kelly Marie Tran and Moses Ingram, who played Rose and Reva respectively, they also suffered from harassment, negative attacks and racism from the Star Wars communitythus giving support to Pegg’s statements.
In related issues, the history of Rey’s parents is revealed. Similarly, the first image of Luthen in the Andor series is revealed.
Editor’s Note:
Star Wars fans need to calm down. It seems that everything upsets this group nowadays. While it is true that the prequels and sequels have a series of errors, the comments should not go beyond a series of constructive criticism, and attacking the actors or directors is unnecessary.
