Star Wars presented previews of his three new films at the Celebration 2023, Made in London: it’s the return of the galaxy far, far away to the cinema. But they also highlighted the return of King Skywalker, played by Daisy Ridley, after 15 years since the last time.
These three films, whose names are not yet known, will be directed by James Mangold (Logan, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate), the great dave filoni (The Mandalorian) and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel).
Gone are the frustrated projects of Patty Jenkins and Kevin Feige, arrivals that had been announced and ended up deleted.
But, What do we know about each of these movies? And in which of them will Rey appear?
This will be the new Star Wars movies
The movies (which do not make up a trilogy, something unprecedented in Star Wars) they span almost almost the entire franchise.
The one Mangold will direct takes place during the rise of the jedi, 25 thousand years before the first trilogy: It is defined as “a Biblical epic film”, which talks about “the emergence of the Force”, in the words of the filmmaker.
While Rey will be in Obaid-Chinoy’s. Here, the character played by Daisy Ridley will be the rebuilder of the Jedi Order. This film is also the furthest back in time for live-action Star Wars.
To close, the film directed by San Dave Filoni will be set in The Mandalorian and his time, showing the clash between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant. Filoni will continue to develop more series, such as Ahsoka, with Rosario Dawson in the title role.
Star Wars rides the hugely successful wave of The Mandalorian and other Disney Plus productions such as Andor and The Bad Batch, to return with all lightsabers to theaters. Just as they don’t have titles yet, there are also no specific years for release.
