We keep discovering details about Final Fantasy VII Remake, and they are getting more and more interesting. A few weeks ago we learned that developers plan was to make Cloud do pole dance for your show at the Honeybee Inn, and we are not going to lie, we would have loved to see it. Today, however, an explanation comes to us from the hands of Final Fantasy director Motomu Toriyama himself, and he tells us about «the seven seconds«, an interesting phrase at the end of Final Fantasy VII Remake.
It’s the final scene of the game, so of course it will contain spoilers. However, if you have already played and you don’t remember what it’s about, here we leave you a video that will help you refresh your memory.
Explanation of “seven seconds to go” in Final Fantasy VII Remake
We have translated Toriyama’s explanation, and here we leave it:
The area where you see Cloud and Sephiroth fighting in the last scene is called the “End of the World.” It is the edge of the world’s space and time, a place where time has stood still. Time continues to tick before the End of the World, and therefore is represented by the “seven seconds before.” If time were to resume, the world would come to its destruction within seven seconds, or with some kind of power, the path of time and space can be changed. This is why Sephiroth tells Cloud, “It’s up to you.”
7 Seconds Until The End.
Toriyama mentions this scene takes place where time has stopped. The world will end in 7 seconds if time is to resume, or if there is some power that can be used, the path of space and time can change.
