MG has launched an ambitious product offensive related to all-electric mobility. The recent revamp of the MG ZS EV and the commercial launch of the new MG Marvel R Electric is just the start of what’s to come. In the short term there will be the arrival of the new MG5 Electric to European dealers. However, the iconic brand, backed by SAIC, one of the giants of the automotive industry, is working on a new model.
A sighting, in great detail, allows us to get closer to the development process of the new 100% electric SUV from Morris Garage. The spy photos illustrating this article show a heavily camouflaged vehicle. Despite this question, which is not trivial, the sighting reveals several details of the project that MG is working on.
Spy photos of Morris Garage’s new electric SUV
The exterior of the photographed vehicle is almost entirely covered by camouflage. Even so, it reveals a low body height and a silhouette typical of a vehicle with a sporty and dynamic image. All this despite its status as an SUV type vehicle. After reaping unquestionable commercial successes in the competitive European market, Is it time for MG to offer a more passionate product? It is one of the options that is on the table.
It is important to note that the prototype was accompanied by a Roewe Ei5 and that vehicle is 1.53 meters high. This allows us to get a fairly clear idea of the size of the new MG model. A special mention should also be made of the rear where, under the camouflage, there is a more than suggestive spoiler.
Will it inherit certain traits from the MG Cyberster Concept? The truth is that there are quite a few unknowns about it.
In any case, and beyond these issues, the project is quite advanced and we even have the opportunity to take a look at the cabin. The photographs are not of much quality but they allow us to discover some elements such as the steering wheel on which the brand’s insignia is located.
On the other hand, although no less important, the author of these snapshots also offers the possibility of looking at the underside of the vehicle, where you can see the battery pack and even some elements of the rear suspension. We will closely follow this very interesting project since there are many possibilities that this model will end up in European dealerships.
