It seems that Spotify is having problems with its app in iOS 15: it consumes too much battery.
Spotify has admitted that Your app is causing serious battery issues for iOS 15 users. There have been numerous users complaining about this problem on social networks, and it seems that Spotify has revealed that it is investigating the matter to try to solve the problem.
Apparently, this excessive battery consumption by the Spotify app for iPhone happens in the last two versions of iOS, both in iOS 14.8 and in iOS 15. Users indicate that the app consumes up to 4 times more battery than usual, they even report a battery decrease of 1% per minute.
Spotify has acknowledged these complaints and has answered the following:
Thanks for your reports on battery drain while upgrading from iOS 14.8 to .15 in both firmware versions over the past few days. We have passed your information on to the relevant team and we can confirm that they are currently investigating it..
Aside from trying to restart and / or a clean reinstall of the app, it would be great to disable background update – this can be found in Settings -> General -> Background app update.
Thanks! We will keep you informed and let you know as soon as we have an update on this.
Spotify is not the only app with problems in iOS 15, Instagram has also had problems in iOS 15. It seems incredible that such important companies, with hundreds of engineers and developers, have not tested their apps in the betas of iOS 15 that we have had available for months to adapt them to the new system.
If you are experiencing this battery problem with Spotify, try to follow the advice that they have published. In case it keeps happening, you can just wait for it to launch an app update on the App Store. It only remains to wait for the moment.
