The video game market has experienced notable activity in recent weeks, with the launch of several large-scale titles. Among the most notable are the PlayStation and Nintendo exclusives: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
With both companies sharing their most recent financial reports, we can tell that the arachnid is taking the lead in sales.
As commented in Level UpSuper Mario Bros. Wonder managed to sell 4.3 million units worldwide in just 2 weeks (14 days), marking an impressive debut record for the series.
However, Sony responded with an even more notable figure: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 reached the mark of more than 5 million units sold in just 11 days. Although they are very different games, the comparison is inevitable: both are exclusive and were released on the same day, October 10.

It is relevant to keep in mind that the Nintendo Switch user base is 132 million, while that of the PlayStation 5 is 46 million, just over a third of that of the Switch. This suggests that the adoption rate is more favorable for the PlayStation title.
“Woo! “We are proud to announce that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold more than 5 million copies!” Insomniac Games celebrated. “We thank our incredible community for their support and contribution to achieving this milestone!”
