Following their debut in Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming, the trio reunited in Spider-Man: Far From Home, finally ending a cycle, it seems, in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
While Holland was approved by Joe and Anthony Russo, Civil War directors Zendaya and Batalon auditioned with Jon Watts for Homecoming. In addition to the self-recording he submitted, Holland had to screen test Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., the mainstays of the MCU’s first decade.
For their part, Batalon and Zendaya had to do some tests with Holland, who had already been cast as Peter Parker.
