Sony would enter the market strong to compete with the Xbox Games Pass.
It has always been said that those who are successful end up attracting others to try to emulate that success and take part of the cake. Under this premise, there is no doubt that Xbox Games Pass is currently one of the biggest successesthereby getting millions of players around the world to subscribe, either on Xbox family consoles or on PC.
In this situation, many point out that PlayStation could be looking for a way to compete directly with this service, since we currently only have PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, without either of the two services reaching as much content as the aforementioned Xbox Game Pass. However, this may be about to change, as we could have new information about Spartacus, the PlayStation service to compete with Game Pass.
There would be three different levels in this subscription service
This information comes first from Bloombergwho in December mentioned that Spartacus was the internal name that Sony gave to this service, although this does not necessarily have to be the definitive name. Under this premise, GamesBeat now informs of the different offers that will be available.
In this way, this medium has said that there would be three levels of subscription, Essential, Extra and Premiumwhich would have a monthly cost of 10, 13 and 16 dollars respectively.
Thus, the $10 monthly service would be the well-known PlayStation Pluswhile the extra service would give access to a vast library of hundreds of downloadable games, this being the content that we can see on PlayStation Now. Finally, PS+ Premium would offer all of the above for $16 a month along with streaming gameplay, a library of classic games, and what appear to be game trials.. It is not known what the latter refers to, but it is speculated that it could work like EA Play.
Having said all this, it must be said that to date Sony has not confirmed any of the abovereason why you have to take the information with tweezers until they pronounce themselves. On the other hand, it will be necessary to see if this is enough for PlayStation to face Xbox Games Pass, since, despite the fact that PlayStation 5 would be the best-selling console, the number of subscribers to the Microsoft service it grows by millions, being very close to reaching the number of PlayStation Plus users.
