professional services firm Grant Thornton, announced that he joined the Lacchain alliance, the initiative that aims to promote the development of blockchain in Latin America and the Caribbean, and which Telefónica Tech and Tribe have also recently joined.
This new agreement with Lacchain means, for Grant Thornton, the exchange of experiences and coordination of communications through social networks to achieve the best possible result in the promotion of events and joint initiatives.
Likewise, the professional services firm explained in a statement that intends to exchange relevant and complementary information with Lacchain on the blockchain-based services that are being deployed, as well as to develop materials and concepts related to blockchain technology and digital identity.
In this sense, among the results that are expected to be achieved are, according to what they indicated: empowering people, improving digital security, generating trust in the economy and digital society, as well as promoting inclusive growth in the region.

In this way, with the incorporation of Grant Thornton together with Telefónica Tech and Tribe, Lacchain becomes integrated by 59 allies of the blockchain environment from 16 countrieswhile it has more than 40 projects with an impact on inclusion, with 136 nodes and 81 entities that execute nodes in a history of more than 35 million blocks.
Grant Thornton Expands Its Blockchain Specialist Team
It should also be noted that according to the europapress news agency, Grant Thornton hired Marcos Carrera as co-director of his Blockchain & Crypto Lab area, with the aim of expanding coverage in the Spanish ecosystem, and reinforcing the active presence in all business initiatives that are being developed around decentralized finance and tokenization.
Luis Pastor endorsed his arrival and said that it will strengthen the firm’s ability to anticipate new crypto trends and technological changes, which are already transforming current business models and will also be a spearhead for the blockchain ecosystem.
In general, the firm explained that this new orientation is “a logical extension” of its positioningbuilt in recent years around blockchain technology and the implementation of crypto projects, both nationally and internationally.
