Today the Spanish indie studio Retro Forge announced that Souldiers had been delayed, and its new release date is June 2nd from 2022. Souldier is a metroidvania RPG that will be published by Dear Villagers on Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles, PlayStation and Steam on PC.
At the end of March it had been announced that Souldiers would arrive on May 19 on consoles and PCs, but today the creative director of Retro Forge, Alberto Hernández, announced its delay along with a message explaining the reasons.
We are very pleased with the overall performance of Souldiers, but we still have a few bugs to work out and we want to make sure that when we release the game, and ask consumers to spend their hard-earned money on it, they receive a premium experience. and no mistakes.”

The creative director says the Souldier team knows how annoying it is to have to wait a little longer, but they promise it will be worth it. The reason for their delay is that they are a small team and developing a game the size of Souldier during a pandemic has presented them with many unforeseen events, so they need more time to refine the experience.
Souldiers is a game with a metroidvania-style structure and RPG elements, since you can choose between different classes with their own skills and statistics, as well as being able to customize them thanks to skill trees. The available classes are Explorer, Mage and Archer, but regardless of which one you choose Souldiers promises a good challenge, as its combat is inspired by the souls-like genre.
