Google wants applications to tell the user exactly what they do with their data and this will be mandatory shortly,
The truth is that being able to know the data that the applications collect is something really necessary. To date, control over these types of issues was complex, the user did not have the power or control to do so.
Google wants this to change and it will do so with the Play Console. It may seem hasty, but it is not. Google has been warning developers for several months about the path they will take to process user information.
And, it is that, it has been commented that transparency in the use of data is something completely necessary on the part of developers and their applications. The movement may have been inspired by what apple does.
Those from Cupertino have been offering the user the possibility of knowing the information collected by the applications since the beginning of this year. The move was not taken well by some developers, although it was by many users.
The way in which Google wants to do this is by offering developers a form in which they have to register each time they launch an application to the Play Store and, also, when they update it.
This form will serve, broadly speaking, as a follow-up document so that you can find out what the application does with this data. Of course, the application must also be accompanied by a data security statement.
This declaration will be mandatory from April 2022, so there is not much time left for developers to start launching their applications with these types of forms and complying with the new Google regulations.
If the applications do not meet these standards, either by collecting more data than indicated or, for example, lying on the form. Google may reject it from being part of the Play Store.
