And just like that out of nowhere Sony has been sending out a series of emails offering a new feature for users of Playstation 5 known as Game Trials. Starting today, the Japanese firm is giving players the opportunity to download and try certain games first-party Limited Time. The first of these titles are Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
Basically, to be able to activate a game with Game Trial, you must go to the PS Store and choose the option Trial, which should be categorized as “free”. In the case of Death Stranding Director’s Cut you can play for up to six hours, while Sackboy: A Big Adventure will offer five.
This timer starts as soon as you download the game, so make sure you have enough time otherwise you will have wasted this opportunity. Each account is limited to one Game Trial of each game, and because it only applies to games of PS5, means that the version of PS4 from Sackboy: A Big Adventure does not apply to these tests.
All your progress, as well as Trophies that you unlock will carry over to the final version of the game if you decide to purchase it. The Game Trials of the two previously mentioned games will be available until October 28, 2021.
Now for the bad news. At the moment, it appears that this new feature is only available in United Kingdom, and we don’t know if Sony have plans to implement it in other regions. It wouldn’t make much sense if it was only limited to this country, but we’ve seen similar things in the past.
