Sony Interactive Entertainment just made a new acquisition with Haven Studiothe new independent team that is now part of the PlayStation family and is working on an exclusive multiplayer experience, which would come to its platforms in the coming years.
Haven Studios was a Montreal-based independent studio that was introduced via a post on the official PlayStation blog exactly one year ago. This studio was founded by Jade Raymon, who along with her team impressed Hermen Hulst, according to the head of PlayStation Studios.

Jade Raymond has over two decades of experience in the industry and according to an interview last year with gamesindustry, Haven Studios has over 50 developers, many of whom come from the original Assassin’s Creed team. According to Raymond, the goal is to achieve next-level visuals.
Sony has since been said to have been Haven Studios’ first choice to work on a new IP, so since its founding there have been hints about the acquisition that just closed this week. However, we will have to wait a couple more years to see what Haven Studios is preparing with its first game.
