From the age of two, children suffer from a phase of strong attachment to their mother, commonly called: “acute mastitis.” What is it about? Find out!
WHAT IS ACUTE MASTITIS?
Suddenly the baby is two years old and wants to be with mom all the time, even rejects dad. The child is not aware that this attitude may be hurting his dad or other people. Children this age are not yet capable of generating empathy.
Simply, being next to mom gives them security and allows them to dare to experience new things.
It is a normal phase of the child’s development, however, it is a stage that can be used to enhance confidence and independence.
SOLUTIONS FOR ACUTE MASTITIS
At home, with your partner, are the tasks divided equally? Children need routines and they need to do things the same way every day so that they become a habit. If mom is the one who always takes care of the little one, it is normal to reject the dad if suddenly, without prior notice, he tries to ‘usurp’ the mom’s position.
Children who are used to being in charge of grandparents, uncles since they were little … tend to be more independent. They also go through phases of acute mastitis but have more resources to overcome them.
Although they are still young to do certain things, if they show interest in doing activities on their own such as eating with a spoon or dressing alone, they should be allowed to try. In this way, they will develop the autonomy they need to be independent.
Children are gradually learning to separate from their parents. But also parents have to learn to separate from their children. If adults take this stage of separation calmly, they will transmit tranquility and security to their children and everything will be easier.
f your child is already in kindergarten and suffers from an acute crisis of mastitis, it is best that the separation is gradual and little by little.
