Since its founding in 1987, Huawei It has stood out for its incredible advances in technology. We talk about a Chinese multinational company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and that came to the West to expand its business and be a contribution to the different places where it is present. In this way, currently Huawei has a presence in more than 170 countriessorting out the dregulatory challenges brought by the United States and without counting on the common operating systems. But like any international firm, this company is not only dedicated to smartphones, but is an entire ecosystem. For example, they recently announced MOON S1, an innovative residential battery designed specifically to optimize the use of solar energy in homes.
It is a system that is presented as a “all-in-one” solution, and that promises a combination of efficiency and reliability, adapting to a wide variety of residential environments thanks to its storage capacities that vary from 6.9 kWh to 20.7 kWh. Therefore, here we review the rest of its characteristics.
What is the Huawei LUNA S1 battery?
Of departure, LUNA S1 stands out for its integration capacity with both single-phase and three-phase systems, offering an operating voltage range of 350~560 V to 600~980 V, depending on the model. Advanced Module+ technology, exclusive to Huaweicollaborates in optimizing storage management, resulting in a significant improvement in the performance of photovoltaic installations.
On the other hand, in terms of safety, the LUNA S1 is equipped to operate in extreme conditions, from temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. It also has protection against water of up to 40 cm for 72 hours, thanks to its IP66+ rating. Along the same lines, the system includes an emergency fire extinguishing module with five levels of protection, which guarantees greater safety.
But in addition to its technical capacity, this battery system stands out for its modular design, which allows the expansion of storage capacity, adjusting to the energy needs of each home. For example, single module version can support up to 3.5 kWwhile the three-module configuration can handle up to 10.5 kW.
With a 15-year warranty, Huawei promises that we are talking about a durable product, promoting a sustainable and energy efficient vision. Although the exact price of the new LUNA S1 battery has not yet been revealed, it is expected to offer competitive value for money in the residential solar energy storage market.
