Almost six months have passed since we met the first leak about the new functionality that MIUI would incorporate in Xiaomi phones throughout its next versions. RAM memory expansion via internal phone memory is now available on some phones, a tool that will allow us to increase the RAM of our devices by up to 3GB of memory.
The most interesting thing is that it is simply a setting that we can activate or deactivate at will, and it does not require installing any extra application. In this post we show you how you can activate it in a simple way to start enjoying it on your Xiaomi.
How to activate RAM memory expansion on your Xiaomi phone
In principle, this was a functionality that we were expected to see in MIUI 13 but, luckily, there are already certain devices that can enjoy it. We have used the Xiaomi Mi 11 for this test and, in the event that your device does not yet have this feature, don’t worry, It will be coming in next versions as the MIUI development team has it ready.
As we tell you, in the case of Xiaomi Mi 11, its RAM memory can be expanded up to 3 GB reaching a total of 11 GB, a more than reasonable amount to be able to manage all the tasks that we carry out in our day to day with the device.
To be able to activate it, We will only have to follow these steps:
- Access the settings of your Xiaomi phone
- Scroll down and select the option “Additional settings”
- Once inside, click on the “Memory extension” section
- Simply activate the option if the system allows it, if that is not the case, leave the internal storage of the phone free until it allows it.
