How to build a company prepared for the future?
The Equinix Global Survey of Technology Trends revealed that companies are leveraging what they have learned during the pandemic as they look to the future, so decision makers in the IT sector of everyone participated in the survey and shared ideas about the biggest challenges they face and what they are doing to overcome them.
The report mentioned that LATAM companies are already planning for a post-pandemic future, with more than 90 percent of LATAM IT industry leaders stating that preparing for the future is a priority.
“Despite the focus that companies are putting on developing strategies for a post-pandemic future, it is still unclear what that future might look like and what challenges companies will need to overcome. On the one hand, LATAM leaders seem unsure that the threats to business posed by COVID-19 have actually disappeared, the study mentions.
The digitalization of the business

For their part, Brazilian companies also prioritize compliance with data protection regulations at 92 percent and improving the customer experience at 91 percent.
“LATAM IT sector leaders seem to have understood that they need to make new digital investments to overcome the challenges they face, and that those investments can be costly. Companies in the region fell well below the world average when it came to prioritizing cost reduction in their technology strategies,” says the study.

With Mexico in the lead, 79 percent of LATAM companies are more likely than their global peers to say they have moved functions to the cloud in the next 12 months. “Of those moving to the cloud, around 70 percent in all three countries said they specifically plan to migrate databases, again significantly higher than the global average,” the report says.
In that sense, while Latin American organizations face current challenges and future threats, they try to invest in new digital technologies to prepare their companies for the future.
