Tom Welling, actor who played Clark Kent in Smallville, confirmed at the Fan Expo in Vancouver that the Smallville animated series has received the green light. And the cast that was part of the series will reprise their respective roles, now providing the voices of their respective characters.
“We’re working on an animated series that picks up right after Smallville (from Season 10) and again we tell our own story and our vision is that we have Erica (Erica Durance, Lois Lane actress)”
Welling noted that even series creators Al Gough and Miles Millar will be part of the production team. But they will be incorporated once they finish their commitments in the filming of an animated film.
Smallville’s Notable Absences
For the first time in public, Tom Welling spoke about his co-star, Allison Mack, who played Chloe Sullivan in Smallville, and who is currently in prison after pleading guilty to charges of sex trafficking and slavery.
“Might be hard to get Allison”
Allison Mack was sentenced in 2021 to three years in prison, which she will serve until 2024. It is unknown if this sentence would be reduced for good behavior.
Welling also pointed out that actors like Sam Jones III, who played Pete Ross, and John Glover, who played Lionel Luthor, are in talks to have a special appearance in this animated series.
“Even Sam Jones III, and Lionel Luthor will be a big part of it. John Glover wants to do it, we’ve been to this”.
Details such as the premiere date and the channel or platform where the episodes of the Smallville animated series will be broadcast, a return that millions of fans around the world have requested, are still unknown.
