After two years of restrictions due to the pandemic, there are only a few days left for the Fallas 2022 to begin. In fact, the city already smells of gunpowder, music is beginning to be heard in the background that makes the locals get excited and everything goes away filling with color… and it is that the mascletás have already begun, to which other acts will be added which will culminate on March 19 with the cream, the great final act of these festivities, when the hundreds of Fallas monuments succumb to the flames in spectacular bonfires.
Although the main attraction, without a doubt, are the hundreds of fallas, or Fallas monuments, which are distributed throughout the streets and squares throughout the city, it is not the only one. To fully enjoy the festivities you can, from not missing the fireworks shows, to booking a guided tour to discover the essence of this celebration that is UNESCO heritage.
Exhibition of the ninot
The Ninot Exhibition brings together hundreds of figures that make up the Fallas monuments. They are all donated by the Fallas commissions of Valencia, with the hope that their ninot be pardoned from the fire, even though only two are saved each year. Until March 15 it is decided which ones (the two that get the most votes), the exhibition can be visited at the Science Museum of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciènciesso that anyone can vote for their favorite ninot.

Mascletas
From March 1 to 19, the city vibrates every day with a concert of gunpowder explosions. A unique sound that happens daily at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Square by the best pyrotechnicians. The offering of flowers is the most emotional act for the Falleros and Valencians. All commissions do an offering of flowers to the Virgin of the Forsaken, Patron saint of the city. In the Plaza de la Virgen there is an immense reproduction of her patron saint, the “Geperudeta”, to whom she adorns herself with a colorful cloak with the flowers that the falleros offer her.
