All fans of the League of Legends competitive scene were able to witness how Summoner’s Rift burned in the last week prior to the League of Legends Division of Honor Telcel semifinals organized by the Mexican Professional Video Game League (MEDIAPRO Group ).
Something that has surprised us is that, after a brief and very close second phase of the regular season, we reached the prelude to the Playoffs, with teams on a roll, feats and a powerful, but not so clear favorite: Atheris, who got 4 of 5 possible wins, they arrive driven to the Playoffs.
The path to get one of the 4 tickets to the Playoffs was very winding in each of its passages, however, we ended up with a “royalty” on a roll that made its way by beating two of its three rivals and running as favorite, although not above Atheris, but on par with Six Karma.
The disappointment comes courtesy of Arctic Gaming, who despite rallying down the stretch against The Kings, were millimeters short of the feat. The “herd” had accustomed us to see them in final instances and this time they stayed two points from the pass. The Highlights:
- Guillermo Navarrete “VirusFX” – Six Karma. Showing his quality in the three duels he held 6K, the experienced Mexican contributed more than 60% of KP and a total of 41 assists. If he maintains this level, he could be a key factor in the semifinal against The Kings.
- Gabriel Grimaldi “Crecre” – Atheris Esports. The Peruvian not only fulfills the role of “Support” on the map, but he really fulfills that role for his team, since adding double digits in each game played and more than 60% in KP and although his monstrous performance did not result in victory in the last meeting, the streak that he lives will be very important in the search for the title.
- Sergio Silva “Cotopaco” – The Kings. The great closing that The Kings is experiencing and that places him as an important candidate for the title, is thanks to this man who has dispatched double digits in “kills”, KP and assists. Let’s not lose sight of him in the semi against Six Karma.
- MVP of the Week: Andrés Bonilla “Pan” – The Kings: The red-haired and young but experienced player, is a complete element that shines for his leadership and his contribution in every area of the game.
Six Karma vs. The Kings
The duel for being the first finalist could not be better. This pair have given us cardiac duels and although of the 3 previous confrontations all have been victory for The Kings, those of Six Karma seek to win the most important.
On the other hand, The Kings wants to consolidate its commitment to this project. Who will be our first finalist? Atheris vs. Zylant and Six Karma vs. The Kings. Don’t miss the Telcel Honor Division semifinals this Wednesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 17 at 7:00 pm on LVP Mexico’s Twitch channel: LVPMexLoL
