No one saw it coming, but a few days ago Konami took the entire world by surprise with the reveal of a “broadcast” event that would focus on announcing the latest news around its Silent Hill saga.
At the same time that the announcement of the streaming date of the talk was made, tons of speculation began about everything that would be revealed there. Reaching the point of speculating what kind of revelations would be made even because of the celebrities who reacted to the publication.
A madness where, without a doubt, the strongest rumor was the speculation that the company could also resurrect that mythical game Silent Hills, developed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, of which we only knew the PT cult demo
But the moment of truth has arrived and we will be direct: nothing was presented about that game that is still dead. However, there is great news, since not only a new title for this franchise was announced, but several. Here is the broad outline of each revelation:
Silent Hill 2 Remake
Following the same logic as Capcom with its Resident Evil saga, the people at Konami announce the production of a remake of the second title in this franchise.
The game will be a boot exclusive for the PlayStation 5 and is being worked on by developer Bloober Team (The Medium, Observer).
Silent Hill Townfall
Produced by Annapurna Interactive (Stray) and developed by the No Code studio, the same as Stories Untold and Observation. Unfortunately the only thing about this game is a short teaser and there are not many details yet. But honestly it looks very interesting.
Silent Hill Ascension
This more than a game looks like an experiment. The title was described as an interactive live action series that takes place in real time with the viewers themselves interacting to make decisions together about the course of the plot.
It will be necessary to follow closely your website for future news and explanations.
Silent Hill F
The highlight of the event was this new title that seems to be its AAA production. The title is developed by Neobards Entertainment, the same people behind Resident Evil Re:Verse, and features a story written by cult Japanese author Ryukishi07.
From what we can see, the title takes place in the 1960s and its approach reminds us more of a Fatal Frame than a Silent Hill.
The firm doubt remains about the quality of the story, since Ryukishi07 is a fairly competent writer in the field he dominates, which is not exactly the same where the stories of this saga usually take place.
