Two men were sentenced to death for hosting parties at the Central Psychiatric Hospital in Hanoi, Vietnam. The defendants are Nguyen Xuan Quy and Nguyen Van Ngoc who organized parties with drugs and prostitutes inside the Hospital facilities.
Those sentenced were sentenced to death by the Hanoi People’s Court on August 31 of this year. Xuan Quy was arrested on April 20 along with his other accomplices who received only 7 years in prison.
Xuan Quy entered the psychiatric hospital in 2018 where he maintained good relations with the staff of the compound, this allowed him to have complete freedom to do and move as he wanted in the hospital.
With so much freedom he was able to make changes to his room such as sound installations, lights and even a DJ table. According to local media, the room was also used as a storage and sale point for illegal drugs.
Quy’s refurbished room was used by hospital medical staff and patientsaccording to the local press, There was also a presence of sex service women in Xuan Quy’s room.
In addition to selling drugs at parties, he sold drugs to addicts who came to the hospital for recovery, who in turn sold them to people outside the facility. Some of Xuan Quy’s clients posed as patient caretakers to get into the Hanoi Central Psychiatric Hospital.
The investigation determined that the sentenced to death, Xuan Quy managed to introduce drugs to the Psychiatric Hospital with the support of Do Thi Luu, former department head of the hospital, whom he bribed with a monthly payment of 10 million Vietnamese dongs.
