In the afternoon of today March 18, 2022, a telluric movement was recorded in the state of Guerrero which activated the seismic alarms within the CDMX, Preliminary reports indicate that it was around 1:53 p.m. downtown time that the earthquake was recorded, which caused several buildings to be evictedwithin the city, as well as the protection within the safe areas of streets, avenues, schools and other city premises.
According to preliminary information from the National Seismological Servicethe earthquake had an unspecified magnitude, with an epicenter Coyuca de Benitez, Guerrero; however, a few minutes later it was announced that the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.8, so it was not perceptible in the streets of the capital and surrounding areas; however, it has been pointed out that in areas close to Guerrero, as well as in states such as Puebla and Cuernavaca, slight movements inside buildings, houses and officeswhich have begun to be shared by users of social networks.
A magnitude earthquake was recorded at 1:53 p.m. on March 18, 2022 with an epicenter in Guerrero.
The tremor was perceived in CDMX and the seismic alert was activated.

The preliminary detection of the magnitude of the earthquake registered in the state of Guerrero, by the National Seismological Service, indicates that a magnitude of at least 4.8 although it has not been specifically indicatedso far, as this may vary in subsequent reports.

Moments after the seismic alerts were turned on, the Head of Government of Mexico City, claudia sheinbaumpointed out that no news has been registered, within the preliminary monitoring carried out by the streets of the city, in which he also points out together with the Mayor of Tlahuac that the security protocols were correctly activated and noting that within Mexico City there was no perception of the earthquake.
