The market for robotic lawnmowers has a new player, a new model from the Segway brand. A firm well known for vehicles that facilitate personal mobility and that makes its debut on the lawnmower market with the Navimov, a model that includes a GPS to facilitate your work and that can be controlled from your mobile.
The Navimov looks, aesthetically, like a typical lawnmower. The difference is that it uses GPS to obtain better results and that thanks to it you do not need boundary wires to establish the area of grass we want to cut.
Water resistant and controlled from mobile
Segway has introduced its first robotic lawnmower, the Navimow. This model is characterized by using GPS to carry out its task and in this way you don’t have to use wires or boundary systems to sets the zone in which you should work.
The Navimov comes in three models, depending on the lawn area that they allow to mow, which go from gardens with 800 meters to large ones with 3,000 square meters. It can work on slopes up to 45 degrees and when it works it does so at a level of 54 dB.
The Navimov makes use of an Exact Fusion location system and according to Segway, thanks to this system the robot is kept in “precise positions and systematic cutting patterns”. Also, if the GPS signal is temporarily weak, the robot continues to mow the lawn thanks to the sensors it incorporates. Furthermore, if the robot moves from its usual position, the user receives a warning on the mobile.
It is a connected robot, so thanks to the specific application, the user can from the mobile set the zones in which he must work and what areas to avoid. Segway further claims that the Navimov has an algorithm that optimizes performance by preventing the robot from having to traverse already cut areas.
The Navimow is also capable of detecting objects on the lawn as pets, toys or children thanks to the Blade Halt technology and thus avoid accidents with the blades. A robot that is resistant to “rain, strong splashes and high pressure water jets” and that thanks to a rain sensor allows it to return to the base when it starts to rain.
Price and availability
The Navimow comes in three models depending on the surface it is capable of cutting. The Navimow H800, priced at 1,499 euros offers up to 800 meters of coverage. The H1500E can cover 1,500 square meter lawns and costs 1,999 euros. For its part, the Navimov H3000E can cut grass of up to 3,000 square meters and is priced at 2,499 euros.
