Founded in 1987 and digitized in 2012, Segundamano, one of the most popular marketplaces in Mexico, announced its closure of operations, and it did so through a series of emails that it sent to its user base.
It is clear that 2020 is behind us, although this has not happened with several of its effects, such as inflation, which has positioned itself as one of the most relevant effects of the so-called “post-pandemic era”; however, everything indicates that the danger of the disease does not seem to be the same as in the twin year.

Today, after several years positioning itself in the digital market, the Segundamano online platform announced its closure in Mexico, news that it sent to its user base through an email in which they explained that their visits saw a 31 percent drop, and their lead generation also dropped to 41 percent:
“The Segundamano team thanks you for being part of this community. They have been part of the constant growth and improvement of our portal. Today we want to tell you that we have made the difficult decision to close the Segundamano operation as of March 31,” is what the email reads.
Somehow, Segundamano was one of the pioneers in offering a space for eCommerce for a society that about 10 years ago began to digitize, selling all kinds of products and even being an option for job search, income, among others.
Undoubtedly, today the offer is much broader and, in a certain way, social networks have specialized in terms of eCommerce.
