Why do you eat nougat in October?
Turrón is a very popular Peruvian sweet that is eaten in October, although in recent years that has changed and there are currently stores that sell them all year round. The reason for the tradition is because in the 17th century, a woman named Josefa Marmanillo decided to ask the Lord of Miracles to cure the illness she had and as gratitude for the miracle granted, she decided to prepare the famous nougat and offer it as an offering to the Christ of Pachacamilla.
