‘Lady’s Gambit’ recently won the Emmy for best limited series of the year. Everything suggested that this would be the case a few months ago, but the arrival of ‘Mare of Easttown’ sowed doubt until the last moment. Nor was it clear that those rumors about a possible second season of the Netflix series were to crystallize into something, but definitely it will not be the case.
“We told the story we wanted to tell”
Due to the enormous success of the miniseries starring Anya Taylor-Joy, there was talk of a second season. Even the actress herself dropped what she would like the axis of it to be, but Scott frank, co-creator of ‘Gambit de dama’, could not be clearer about it when asked after his triumph at the Emmys:
I’m really sorry. I hate to disappoint someone, but no. I think we told the story we wanted to tell and it worries me, well let me put it another way, it terrifies me that if we told more, we would ruin what we already have.
And is that that’s always a possibility when you continue a story that you have rightly closed. That hasn’t prevented a multitude of disappointments over the years from Hollywood’s apparent need to keep exploiting what has been successful, so I’m glad it’s not going to be the case with ‘Lady’s Gambit’.
Of course, one thing is not wanting to do a second season of ‘Lady’s Gambit’ and another that the same team is not going to collaborate again. Well, the executive producer William horberg He did not hesitate to state the following:
Of course we will continue to work together and we are trying to find another story to tell with the same passion and the same team of amazing artists.
So ‘Queen’s Gambit 2’ is not, but another series with the same managers behind it is a possibility. Better so I think, and you?
