A few days ago Apple introduced the first laptop with notch, which allows you to have a thinner screen without having to sacrifice the front camera on the screen like Huawei does with its computers.
This decision generated divided opinions on social networks, so there were even those who joked that the following device with notch it would be an iPad. However, what few imagined is that the first to present a tablet with notch would not be Apple, but its archrival Samsung.
Galaxy S8 Ultra with notch
According the popular leaker, OnLeaks, Samsung’s best tablet will be christened the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, and its peculiarity is that it would be the first Android tablet with a notch.
The reason why the notch will be necessary in this tablet is because the firm will make the frames even thinner, so the screen ratio could break the record in a tablet.
And although the first thing that might come to your head is that this decision may be driven by the need to place an infrared sensor for facial unlocking, OnLeaks mentions that in that notch there will only be the front camera and (perhaps) a light sensor, for so there will be no advanced facial recognition system.
The funny thing is that Samsung is considering using a notch instead of the classic perforated screen that the firm has implemented in its phones for a long time.
Normally OnLeaks tends to get their design leaks right, so although this information should be taken as a rumor, there is a high probability of seeing a Samsung tablet with a notch.
The source also mentions that the tablet will have a 14.6-inch screen, a size never seen before in this family. The screen size of the Tab S8 and Tab S8 + will be 11 and 12.4 inches. All would have support for the S Pen, speakers tuned by Harman Kardon and aluminum body.
