The meteoric fame of Sam AltmanCEO of OpenAI, the company that created Artificial Intelligence ChatGPT, has taken the Silicon Valley community by storm. But there was a time when this boy was just a “mortal” and he had the opportunity to meet one of his heroes: Steve Jobs.
The co-founder of Manzana He left a deep mark on entire generations of young people throughout his professional career at the head of that company to which we owe great products and innovations, such as the iPod, the Mac and the iPhone.
Now the playing field is somewhat different and starting this year, 2023, there has been a firm feeling that a good part of the dynamics in this information technology industry (and other different productive sectors) will be marked by the Artificial intelligence.
Under such a scenario, Sam Altman would position himself as one of the key players of the moment, thanks to what he achieved with ChatGPT in a relatively short time. Although other platforms such as Google Bard or Midjourney are getting closer to equaling or surpassing the most famous AI on the planet.
However, while that moment of another change arrives, the executive remains a reference for the sector and any detail of his life has become an element of interest. Even more so if it involves the legend that gave life to Apple.
When Sam Altman met Steve Jobs
An article from the friends of Business Insider tells us how OpenAI held its first conference for developers, all with the purpose of publicizing the news around ChatGPT and its Artificial Intelligence.
Sam Altman went on stage and talked about his company, but from there we began to notice a series of strange winks, where his style of conversation and even his attire reminded us of what he used to. Steve Jobs in his historic keynotes of Manzana.
It was quite obvious that the executive was looking to emulate the genius responsible for the iPod and all doubt was cleared up now that cnnafter Altman’s intervention, revived a clip from a past interview where the man reveals that he actually met Steve Jobs.
The interview would have taken place in 2015 and there Sam tells how he was “paralyzed” when he met this legend.
Altman called Jobs his “childhood idol” and said that auditioning in front of him in his early 20s was the only time he “was paralyzed with nervousness in any business context.”
We can’t blame him.
