Such is the case of Olga Buzova, Russian Influencer and star of a reality show, posted a video in which she cries for the banning of Instagram, a social network where she has a community of 23.3 million followers.
Let us remember that as of this Monday, March 14, Instagram is already officially blocked in Russia, after the Roskomnadzor, the Kremlin’s media and communications regulator, had closed the channel to the digital platform belonging to Meta.
According to data from Statista, the Russian user base on Instagram stood at 56.5 million in 2021, with a projection of taking it above 76 million by 2025. Given these data, the censorship of this social network leaves the Russian people without direct access to the three most important social networks in the world.
For his part, the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, published a video where he affirms that this Russian ban will leave 80 million people cut off from each other and from the rest of the world.
Because both Facebook and Twitter had already suffered the same fate in previous weeks by the Russian regulator in response to the sanctions imposed by the West on the government of Vladimir Putin.
Russian influencer cries after Instagram ban in her country

“I only shared my life, my work and my soul. I did not do all this as a job for me, this is part of my soul. It feels like a big part of my heart and my life is being taken away. Away from me,” she claimed.
Likewise, another influencer who used a recording to show her concern about this closure was Karina Nigay, that he has three million followers on the digital platform and mentioned that the platform is his only form of income.
“This is my job. Imagine that you have just been completely laid off from your job and you do not receive any income, but at the same time you have expenses for your family, for your team if you have subordinates and suddenly you have nothing to do,” said Nigay.
