Even before Rockstar announced that the game was in development, fans were eagerly awaiting grand theft auto 6, although it is probably still a couple of years away. With the fifth installment in the long-running series being one of the highest-grossing video games of the last decade, many will no doubt be wondering how the studio will top GTA 5.
With the next installment underway, rumors and leaks have bombarded the gaming world, and one such tidbit suggests news is coming soon. That is, according to a report, citing a GTAForums post by Tez2, an industry insider.
Apparently, Rockstar could make some kind of announcement about grand theft auto 6, and it could all be related to a mysterious screenshot. The insider says there’s a “high probability” the developer will unveil something on October 23, just before Halloween.
For those who don’t remember, last year fans noticed what they suspected was a Grand Theft Auto 6 screenshot hidden in GTA Trilogy. It shows a photograph of an unknown house, next to which a UFO can be seen hovering nearby. It’s not certain that it’s from the next game, but that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to crack the mystery.
What’s interesting is that the image was found at the Lil’ Probe’Inn, a UFO-themed bar in San Andreas. According to Tez2, GTA Online may start to include UFOs, leading Rockstar to mention these alien craft in a Twitter post.
It has been suggested that this social media post could contain a hint as to when fans could expect a GTA 6 announcement. Tez2 gives the example of a photo with a mention of perhaps “tropical storms in two days” which would be the date expected announcement.
Tez2 is known for leaking a lot of information about GTA games. For example, in early January, they suggested that Rockstar would announce their next game in 2022. Sure enough, the following month it was officially revealed that grand theft auto 6 was in development.
Of course, that doesn’t mean this new information is going to come true, so it’s best not to judge for now. That said, it’s worth keeping an eye out for this alleged UFO development in GTA Online, which could lead to a sneak peek at GTA 6.
