Today Thursday July 7, 2022 marks 7 years since the launch of Rocket League, the Psyonix multiplayer that proposed a new soccer-inspired sport with rocket cars, also called Soccar. In 2019, Epic Games bought Psyonix and the Rocket League license, which allowed them to add cross-play functionality with the option to make groups even if they are on different platforms. A year later Rocket League became free-to-play and featured cross-platform progress. Lastly, last year saw the release of Rocket League Sideswipe, a mobile spin-off.
