Last year saw the release of Resident Evil: Village, the eighth main installment in Capcom’s most successful horror series, which was to feature a multiplayer add-on in Resident Evil: Reverse. ReVerse was originally going to arrive in the summer of last year but was delayed until 2022.
Although Capcom hasn’t given any word on Resident Evil: ReVerse since announcing its delay, it was discovered that a previously unannounced version of Google Stadia was classified this weekend. RE: ReVerse had already been rated on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, so the new record could indicate we’ll have news soon.
Related: Resident Evil: Village would be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon, according to a rumor.
RE: ReVerse is a multiplayer experience in which we control characters from the entire Resident Evil series, each with their own weapons and abilities, to face them in short games of 4 to 6 players. Owners of Resident Evil: Village will be able to get ReVerse for free, but for everyone else it will come as a standalone experience.
RE: ReVerse players must obtain virus samples to increase damage and accuracy but once killed you become a monster that must attack other players. The type of monster you turn into will depend on how many virus samples you get, so if you get enough you can turn into a Tyrant.

The E3 season is only a month away (without E3), so chances are Capcom is saving their announcements for June. Whether Capcom holds its own event or we see its announcements at other presentations, expect news of Resident Evil: ReVerse or the rumored RE4 Remake among next month’s announcements.
