When Resident Evil 7 went on sale in 2017 it was a risk for Capcom, since on the one hand it returned the saga to the terror that originally characterized it (after several deliveries focused on excessive action) and on the other it brought it to the perspective in first person, a decision that caused division among fans.
Nonetheless, it appears that the risk was worth it for the company, as sales of the title have been and continue to be incredibly good, reaching the point where Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil 7 surpasses in monthly sales to Village, the latest installment in the series.
Resident Evil Village could receive free DLCs in the future
This data has been shared thanks to an update of the section «platinum titles»From Capcom, according to which Resident Evil 7 would have exceeded 10 million units sold. By comparison, the only other game from the company to hit such numbers has been Monster Hunter World. Not only that, but while Resident Evil Village sold some 300,000 copies during the last fiscal year, Resident Evil 7 hit 400,000.

Some really high sales figures that serve to understand how this title led Capcom to want to return to lead the saga to terror. Resident Evil Village went on sale on May 7, 2021 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, Ps4, Ps5, Microsoft Windows and Google Stadia.
