In recent days, Capcom has shown Resident Evil 4 Remake in great detail, and although it seems that we will find a fairly faithful recreation of the action and horror classic, perhaps even closer to the original than others like Resident Evil 2 Remake (where quite a few liberties were taken), it seems that Resident Evil 4 Remake will not feature one of the original’s most divisive features.
Specifically, the producer of the title, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, has confirmed in an interview with IGN that Resident Evil 4 Remake will hardly have QTEs (Quick Time Events), these cinematic scenes in which one or more buttons on the controller must be pressed in order to advance in the game. This mechanic became incredibly popular after the release of the original game, but in recent years it has been disappearing more and more, after receiving criticism from players. We could say that it was a fad, so it makes sense that, with the modernization of this remake, it would be left behind as a product of its time.
